We stayed in a lovely hotel in downtown Kelowna for one night about a week ago and even though it was a short stay, it made a lasting impression. After the restrictions of COVID, our senses were overwhelmed by the smells, sounds and sights of hundreds of people mingling by the lakeside. The sensation of the hot, humid air combined with the scents of food, drink and the lake were intoxicating. Guys and girls were clearly on the hunt for romantic encounters and there was a buzz of excitement in the air. Normally, I hate big, drunken, hormonal crowds, but this time I was so grateful to be a part of that crazy mass of humanity. How sweet it is to be free!
